I checked out the PNTA site to refresh my memory about the results of the 1999 Rumble and all that was there was stuff saying that they will not be in FIRST in 2000 because they decided to look into another competition.
Are there any other teams that are leaving the competition???

I just wanted to say that I had the pleasure of meeting many of the members of the Plymouth North team over the years, and I am gonna miss them. Their team has set a great example in previous years, and has done a ton for this program. The competition won’t be the same without them. Good Luck to Plymouth North in the future,
Andy Grady, DWC/Alvirne

I must say the same… I’ve had the pleasure of becoming good friends with many of the great people on the PNTA squad and got to see many of them this past weekend at the FLL competition. They are a great group of people, a great FIRST team, and I hope (and know) it’s not the last we see of them… After this weekend… I believe people in Plymouth are born with Robotics in their blood
The 2000 games will not be the same PNTA.

We will all miss Mike B. and his team this year.
The PNHS squad was always a CLASS ACT. They set shining examples for all teams to follow.
I know Mike and his students will excel at whatever task they choose.
Best wishes

It hurts me to know thet Plymouth North will not be in FIRST this year. Mr. B introduced my teacher to the program in 1996 and we have been gong since then. Not having Plymouth North doing FIRST is like Peanut Butter without the jelly. The Gracious Professionalism that they had made me wish That I was a part of their great team. Mr. B will always be the dean of FIRST and I will always have that team on a very high pedestal cause of what they did for the FIRST nation and what they meant as a team. I’m going to have to go over to Memorial Hall(the site of rumble at the Rock) and just sit in the stands and listening to hear the voices of Mike, Mr. P, and all the members of the Plymouth North team that made Rumble at the Rock the best competition in the whole Realm of FIRST. It’s just not going to be the same without you. You guys weren’t just one team, you were a piece of many of the teams that competed in these competitions. You have touched many people and your legacy will live on forever. I miss you guys already

I agree with you completely, Mike. It won’t be the same without PNTA in competition. But one of my teachers talked to Plymouth North, and from what I understand, they are planning to return in 2001. Plymouth North, we’ll all miss you, and hope you hurry back to your FIRST home.

I think some of you would like to know that we’re not completely dead over at team 23, but in fact many of our alumni(myself included) have gone off to college and are helping out on other teams. I’m pretty sure i speak for most of the people on team 23 when i say thank you for making Rumble worth putting on… We couldn’t have had that much fun all by ourselves…
Good Luck to all this year… See you at the Kickoff.

It is a little hard tobelieve especially since they just drew polaroid into their partnership bigtime in July…
what was your link to them? I tried pnta.org and got nothing but went back to an old email and visited their polaroid site which doesn’t indicate anything…like it was never updated…where are you Mr. B?

I went to there site the day I posted the orig. message. I just went there again now but I guess they took there site down. I don’t know what exactly they where doing but it said something to the effect of pursuing another technical area for there students that they could do during school hours and after school. That didn’t have such a tight schedule. I wish PNTA the best of luck whatever they do. I only got the chance to go to one Rumble and I was lucky enough to be on the feild.
You never know what they are capable of in Plymoth. They may just have another Rumble just for us. If I know one thing about them they all like to rumble in plymoth.

We put the 'bot in the box.
We took the box to the docks.
By freighter or plane,
By truck or by train
We went there because Plymouth rocks.

Granted I’m not on the Plymouth team however a reliable source from Blue Lightning told me last year that he had been talking with Mr. B. and that Mr. B. said 99 was he last year. Mr. B. indicated he was leaving Plymouth North HS to pursue his Master’s Degree. Again this is only rumor because I am not on the Plymouth North team but it is a reliable source.
