No signal on electronics but the CAN loop is ok?

We have been trying to get our robot working again after competition, but we can’t get anything moving. All spark maxes are blinking cyan (no signal), the PDH is magenta (keep alive timeout) when not plugged into a computer, cyan (secondary heartbeat) when it is. None of the swerve modules are getting signal either. When in REV hardware, there are no faults that cannot be cleared. A majority of the CAN loop has been rewired. I have tried to update the roboRIO, the first time I connected to the imagine software, updating wasn’t an option, and since then, the software hasn’t been able to find a RIO. I also tried another RIO but it couldn’t be found by the software either. Some of our RIO’s are set up with two different teams and I haven’t been able to differentiate the two. When pinging the RIO on mDNS (10.17.97.2), all packets are returned but I get “Destination net unreachable”. Does anyone know what the issue could be?

We have run into these issues as well. We went back to the Rio V1 on two bots after running into issues with V2 last season. We even ran into issues with can loop as well…and the Rev Client isn’t picking up faults. Rio’s have been a pain…Radios have been a pain…computers have been a pain.

Here is what we spent the last 3 days doing. Reformatted everything. Isolated Spark Max’s…tested each one by one. Checked NEO’s as well. Rio’s redone…and seem to be working. One Spark Max is dead…from what we can tell. Radio still not working…possibly a DNS issue.

Start with the RIO – use a USB cable to reimage it and deploy S/W – even a minimal sample program. See where everything else is after you get through this step.

If your Rio is not working, I’d start on fixing the Rio, as others suggested already. Until that’s working properly you will have no way to verify whether anything else does.
With Rio2 standard issue is SDCard getting loose or falling out.
With Rio1 you need to reimage it.
Do not worry about CAN or any other peripherals until your Rio is behaving correctly.
