Not all talons and CANCoders not appearing on Phoenix Tuner

We just upgraded our roborio’s firmware, wpiplib version, and now motor and encoder firmware from the 2023 versions to the 2024 versions. However, upon updating the motors and encoders in the Phoenix Tuner, an attempt to run the robot resulted in many CAN Errors. We used to have 8 motors/encoders show up in the phoenix tuner, now only 3. Our CAN Utilization is staying around 20% and our neos are moving fine. I don’t have the error on hand with me right now, but it said something like “CAN Frame Not received/to scale” and “Unable to retrieve firmware version make sure phoenix 5 firmware is installed”. It’s also important to say that all lights and encoders are normal. The talons are blinking orange (normal) and the cancoders are blinking green (normal). Any help would be appreciated.

The motors are falcon 500s btw and we now see that they have the working ones blinking orange simultaneous and the broken ones blinking orange alternating.

Is your code running off the Phoenix 5 vendordep?

We fixed it. It turns out we had a CAN wire disconnected. Weird that it still was blinking orange though.

We connected the wire and all lights blinked as expected. We then had to disconnect the wire for wire management reasons and it was blinking as if it were disconnected instead of orange alternating (and of course it worked again upon connecting again) but we still don’t know why it was alternating orange with that wire connected to begin with though. :man_shrugging:
