As you may know, I am the President of The Grotto Foundation, Inc., a 501c3 Charitable Foundation, that supports several of our local First Robotics Teams including Team 1626, Falcon Robotics from Saint Joseph HS, Metuchen, NJ and Team 1257, Parallel Universe from Union County Magnet HS in Scotch Plains, NJ among others. In addition, the Foundation has also supported FIRST MidAtlantic, at the District level. For the last two years as you can guess, the Foundation has been unable to hold our annual golf outing or otherwise raise funds in support of these deserving students. As a new school year approaches so does a new First Robotics’ season and along with it the financial pressure to fund construction of a new robot, registration costs and the costs to compete at local, District and World events in 2022. Simply put, The Foundation needs your help so we can continue to provide this assistance. Mentoring these students through a Build and Competition Season has been an extremely fulfilling experience for me personally for over 10 years. While the growth of these programs has been tremendous, continuing to grow these programs is extremely costly. The Students and their robots are simply amazing and they work extremely hard guaranteeing that our future will be in good hands as they put the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) topics they learn to good use.
Since the College Football season is also getting underway, we decided to try something different. The Grotto Foundation is going to raffle off a choice to the winner of either 4 game tickets and a parking pass for the October 30, 2021 game between the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame at Notre Dame Stadium or 2 game tickets and a parking pass as the Trojans of the University of Southern California invade Notre Dame Stadium on October 23, 2021. So if your son or daughter, nephew/niece or good friend down the block is considering a visit to Notre Dame, or if it’s just part of your personal bucket list, please take a chance (or several) to personally experience the pageantry of a fall Notre Dame Football weekend and experience all the University of Notre Dame has to offer. The cost of each raffle ticket will be $10. Please recognize that these are game tickets and parking only. Winners will be responsible for their own travel and hotel expenses and meals.

Is the raffle registered with state/local? I thought in New Jersey raffles had to be held in person.
State and Local registration is pending. We believe the raffle is in full compliance with NJ regulations.
This is super cool! Whomever wins will have to come to our concession stands, as we run a couple every year for the Notre Dame football home games.
