VIDEO CAMERA POOL FOR RECORDING TECH SESSIONS
At the Novi Kickoff, there will be two timeslots for technical sessions, in six different classrooms. Many teams like to videotape these sessions for use as training tapes.
Rather than having a ton of teams all trying to come up with six cameras apiece, I’d like to team up with a few other teams also planning to tape the sessions and split the task so we’re insured ALL sessions are covered.
We’d bulk copy the tapes in VHS format, and swap them. This way, EVERYONE participating in the pool has a FULL set of tapes for all tech sessions to help train new members of their team in the future. I have someone that can help bulk replicate tapes.
If any other team would like to join us, please email me directly.
To participate, you’ll need: a camcorder (any type), tripod, and (2) two hour tapes for each classroom you wish to cover. I’d also recommend extra charged batteries, plus your power brick & and extension cord to insure against battery problems. I plan to bring six power strips to help people share plugs, just in case.
From past experience, since the tripods will be set up behind the crowd, if you happen to have an extension mike on a long cord to place up in the front or a remote wireless mike for your camera to stick on the presenter, that helps the tape’s sound quality TREMENDOUSLY.
Any camcorder type is OK, but we plan to swap tapes in VHS format.
Again, please email me directly if you wish to join our pool, and tell me how many cameras your team can bring. Ideally, I’d like to see us field a pair of cameras in each session for redundancy in case of camera failure, so it will take 12 camcorders in total.
Thanks!
