In the rule book it states that you can have up to 6 CIM motors, but does that mean that you can have ONLY 6 CIM motors, or up to 6 of each different kind of CIM motors.
Please read the blue box of R29.
In addition to the bluebox, I’d like to point out that the miniCIM does not fall under the CIM category for motor count.
Well it list all of the CIM par numbers and to the right says 6, then it lists all the other part numbers and says unlimited. So I thought that it was saying “for the following u can have up to 6 of each” for the rest of them i thought it meant “for the following u can have as many as u like”
Regardless of rules be careful of brownouts. I’m haven’t checked but I believe you can have a max 6 Cims. We will be using 4 Cims, and 2 mini Cims this year plus a compressor. Got to admit I’m a little worried about brownouts.
You’re allowed 6 CIMS. The big, coke-can sized black motor. The blue box (Table 4-1: Legal Motors) having multiple part # is because there’s a strange amount of places that now sell CIMs, but at the core they’re all basically the same, and you can have 6.
As far as other motors (mini-CIMs included), go nuts. Have as many as you wish, though bear in mind that your robot battery has to make it through a two and a half minute match.
@Sperkowsky, as long as your compressor is on sparingly, it sounds like that set up should be fine. Avoid pushing matches if you can, and hopefully you’re never both completely refilling your tanks as well as shoving a robot across the field.
This is the 2nd paragraph in the blue box under R29:
ThIs is the total number of each motor a Team may use on their ROBOT, not the quantity per part number. For example, each team may use up to six (6) CIM motors on their ROBOT, regardless of the quantity or combination of each individual part number used.
Got it, Thank ou for he help!
