I was looking through the rules but didn’t see anything specific about the number of Jaguar’s that can be on the robot. Is there a limit to the number of Jaguar’s that can be on the robot?
Weight / Cost limits.
Of course, PWM outputs avaliable are also a limiting factor. As are the slots on the PD block.
And I think CAN only goes up to 60ish?
You are allowed to run a speed controller with a smaller breaker.
Then yes, Weight restrictions and what you can afford to get limit the number of speed controllers.
Jaguar’s can network is limited to 16 nodes according to the Getting Started Guide. You could also use Y-Cables on each of the 20 total PWM ports on 2 sidecars for up to 56 (2*20+16=56) Jaguars controlled. You might be able to use multiple Y-cables on a single PWM output, I don’t know the max fan-out.
Of course this exercise is done purely out of curiosity to see how many Jags you could control. The motors you could control with the Jags is limited to 13, including 4 CIMs, 4 total Banebots motors, 4 window motors (which have issues with Jags), and 1 FP motor. The extra CAN Jags could be used to read sensors, but I am not sure what you would do with the extra PWM Jags. Perhaps, you could use their 3 color LEDs to signal which tube you want next to your Feeder
You can control as many jags as you want with one channel of PWM (unless you do so many you get limited by current or something… not likely with a 20A breaker).
Cost restrictions say 41 max, if you use nothing else but KOP parts. Christmas tree please?

All 7 run on CAN bus without a problem.
I think there is a buildout limit on the PWM driver that would limit this.
