Obtaining Solidworks for First Robotics FRC TEams

Folks,

We have a few students who would like to learn Solidworks this season and use it design this year’s robot.

Typically we use Inventor Pro…but these students would like the experience and practice with a different package.

Can you tell me how we get the latest version? I’d like to get it now so that I can prepare myself to mentor them in this effort.

Here is the application to get the new Solidworks: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=91132550276

They’ll typically get back to you within a couple of days. I don’t think they’re automated like Autodesk or PTC are (for distributing academic licenses to their software).

I applied our team a couple of weeks ago they seem to reply on Mondays but that may have just been a coincidence

Thanks all, I applied…now it’s wait and see…

You should get accepted its just a waiting game.

How long does it typically take? I applied a week ago and still haven’t heard back from them. I’m wondering if I mistyped my email.

Never mind. It was in spam.

We are running about 7 - 10 business days. We have received 100’s of applications this past week and everyone must be verified and run through Legal US Export Compliance. Please send me your team name and I will check. Marie
