OCCRA 2024 Allowed Motors

This year for R14 there is rather noticeable change in the wording from last year. This year is the omission of “Brushed” and was wondering if the use of brushless motors is allowed this year if it fits under the $100 limit?

Was looking for clarification since REV Neo’s come with encoders which help for autonomous mode

As long as the motor and speed controller fit the pricing constraint, then the motor is legal. With the current pricing from Rev, a Neo motor and Spark Max controller would both be considered legal components.

I thought brushless was a no go for OCCRA. Before my students get super excited I just want to clarify that brushless is okay. Thanks

I have some questions about OCCRA on CD now, what is OCCRA?

Oakland County Competitive Robotics Association.

Oakland County Michigan to be precise.

It has been around for more than a few years.
