[OCCRA]: [OCCRA]: Human player clarification

Hello,
I’m Devon from TORC 2137 and I have a question about the rules of human players. I was wondering how far a human player may reach into the field to receive or give a crate to a robot. So, let’s say, my robot drives along the rail to the human player zone would he (or she) be able to reach into the field about 8" max to grab a crate from your own team’s robot possessing it? Also, how much may the human player extend out of the zone (still outside of the field?). During the FIRST competition we were allowed to extend as far out of the zone (as long as we had one body part in contact with the ground in the zone) as we wanted. Will this be the same?
Thank you,
Devon

HPs may not reach out into the field space nor may your robot reach into your HP’s space. The refs probably will not call brief incursions that only go in an inch or two, but I think an 8" intrusion will be obvious and will get called. Remember: if an HP is holding the close edge of a crate and their fingers are above the rail, the crate will extend over 12" out onto the field. HPs also need to keep their feet inside the HP zone at all times.
