thats from last year. lol We are all over that thread last year. So we figured we would start the thread again this year lol! maybe ra ra ruckus is a good choice this year (not sure if our teacher likes travelling though lol  )
So we are hoping something happened over the year to get another canada off season event going!
Thanks ???
I already read that thread and was wondering if anything was happening this year 2008 in Toronto or anywhere else seeing that nothing happened last year.

If your looking for an offseason ftc Event, There is an event in Richmond Hill at Stephen Louis SS. Contat Fred Liu for more details
It was my understanding that any off-season event would have to be in Western Canada.
Spring, Summer and Fall in the east has been cancelled on account of snow.
Jason
ummm snow??? in spring and summer??? there is no snow right now lol (I’m pretty sure there isn’t, I live in these parts lol) Anybody want to set one up with us??? lol I have very little information on how to do so… but hey!
We would try to help with that, it would be nice to have an off season event to play in. Any ideas?
Kevin
well I can talk to some people and PM you with responses!! I’m pretty sure our team has no money but I’m sure we can try!! (I hope, depends on what the rest of the team says lol)
I’m sure 1075 would love to be involved/help out with a Canadian off-season.
We have zero money to contribute though, due to a sponsorship issue.
I will however say that during my chatterings at the Waterloo and GTR competitions, I spoke with Karthik, and he sort of indicated to me that 1114 would be trying to revive the competition that WAS the Wonderland Invitational, but that due to the new ownership of Canada’s Wonderland being difficult, it might not be held AT Canada’s Wonderland.
Oops. Sorry. Hadn’t noticed the date.
My bad! :o
If it is somewhere in Ontario, we would go to it for sure, I don’t really care if it’s not at wonderland (I have been too many times lol :D) but it would be awesome if there was one!
(It would also save me from my previous posts lol I may of bitten off more than I can chew, I didn’t really expect responses lmao :o :o , although we would still try and help I’m sure)
If there is no event in Ontario, I would recommend Rah Cha Cha Ruckus in Rochester. I have been going every year and have a great time. Fun, food, costumes, competition, draws, pie in the eye, what’s left?
“If” there is no event in Ontario…
Speaking with plenty of mentors at Waterloo and GTR, to me it seems like there is plenty of desire to have an off-season event in the area. We used to have the Wonderland Event, which was absolutely AMAZING as far as off-season events went.
In the interests of putting out a few “feelers” about a replacement off-season event, if you’re also interested in having a Canadian off-season event:
**Where would like to see it happen?
When would you have it?
What could you do or provide to help make it happen?**
At the very least, we could compile all the responses to Karen Rosenthal, and go from there.
Did someone say pie in the eye?
I wouldn’t mind having it at the U of W lol. (our team is only 20 mins away from there). That way we can help out with a lot of the grunt work (setting up tearing down etc etc.)
Probably in the summer sometime seems good! when was wonderland last time it was held?
Unfortnatly, our team would barely have enough money to pay an entrance fee to get into an off-season event, so any help we could provide would be physical, or organization help!
It would be awesome for a bunch of teams to get together and pull an off-season event off!
And Steve, The plan was to go to the Ruckus if things didn’t pan out in Canada lol. How would our team go about registering for this event?? (I hope our team is good enough this year to get to go to Invitationals )
I really enjoyed Wonderland in '06, it was the last event we won (with 1503, and Waldo). I think if we were to have another one it would have to be in the Toronto area seeing thats where most of the teams are located.
I’ve always thought my old school would have a good setup for a small off-season event (20 teams maybe…), we are in central toronto (bayview and lawrence, Crescent School). We have a large field house (bubble type thing) where we held the FLL Provincials for two years, but holding it in there would require renting stands and such. We also have two gyms that are connected by a short hallway, one with stands and another that could be used for pits. I would love to see another off season event in Toronto, at this point my team probably doesn’t have the man power to organize this type of event.
Here is the link to last years web page. You can contact some of the people there and you will get more info. I have been asked to return so I will most likely be there for Ruckus 2008.
I would think after losing the Stanley Cup Play offs again…(don’t worry you will) no Canadian team would want to compete against a American team again… in anything
just joking…
I wouldn’t mind heading north and trying some Horton’s
