not not down.
I would be more then happy to give anyone interested in starting a league similar to OCCRA in their area advice or help, it’s easily one of the biggest things that helps so many teams in our area have so much success, both in FRC and just in general with getting more education to students.
Gonna take you up on that, Nick.
I’ve actually been reading into OCCRA a little more today, primarily looking at how y’all get a control system that’s cheap and accessible, also wanna learn more about using the VEX cortex to run an FRC-style robot.
Though I’m sure Andrew will forward your advice to the rest of us on 299, I’d just like to pitch in that I’m particularly interested in what the backend finances and legal organization of OCCRA itself look like — what the income/expenses come out to, what’s in your balance sheet, the legal structure of the central coordinating unit, etc., if at all possible.
It worked well as the teams who couldn’t afford to go overseas could still compete and learn from the ones who could (eg. 4613, 4774, 3132). Recently the two regionals have also brought in many teams from overseas such as china, indonesia or taiwan and I don’t think one would get that with an offseason event.
