During a practice match, team 1690 Orbit’s turret fell off its swivel. Hopefully they can get it back working in time for quals.
You’re just prepping for the 2002 retro game
Please, do not give me nightmares of the turret mouse scurrying around my floor.
Ouch! Well, it’s happened to other teams this year as well (uhhh definitely not our team ), the turrets are larger + heavier than previous years, and robots are faster and smashing into one another with greater force all leading to higher probability of failure.
Looks like 1690 got it back on and working before their first match.
Surprisingly, it did not fall off on impact. It fell off during their auto sequence.
So they self decapitated? Cool.
Wow, that IS unexpected, guess it was just at the point of failure and ball compression did it in.
Where is my HAT? I gotta put on my HAT. The HAT sustains us.
OH MAN! NOT AGAIN! That must really suck. This isn’t the first instance of a turret being decapitated during a match. I remember during Infinite recharge at FIM St Joe, Team 2767 had theirs come off as well. They managed to fix it from what I recall. Things happen that are not accounted for. I wish you the best of luck with the repairs!
Since this is now the robots decapitation thread, team 862 lost their turret while climbing after they fell down from the traversal rung.
I’m not going to say it happened again today, but it happened again……
What you mean we are not supposed to hang from those wires? A couple of them are somewhat low gauge.
Actually all the cool kids are popping their top, you should try it too. It keeps you from getting bored in the pits.
With 70 seconds remaining in Q53. EEK! That speed bump is clearly dangerous, something should be done about it.
But I have no doubt the pit crew will get your head on straight again.
If only we weren’t a low goal robot. LOL
Ohh it’s back on! Gotta run a test and good to go.
The speed bump bent one of our swerve plates today
Two times within a weeks time.
Glad to see you won this match.
