Sometime around last year, @Andrew_L made a post about elimination match music, and that got me thinking, what could an elimination match music set look like? So I went and put together this playlist of sorts. Unfortunately that thread is now locked, so I couldn’t post it there. But here it is.
A lot of thought went into where I thought each song belongs within the elimination matches and I tried to put in high energy, no lyric music (no distractions) that will not only enhance the viewing experience for viewers in the field but also to help the drive team focus and perform better.
This playlist is open to be used by anyone for any event and I have the doc open to be copied as well.
I would also enjoy any suggestions or feedback any of you guys have to offer to make this better.
I’ll work to try and get a youtube playlist put together with this music in order and maybe even a Spotify one, (providing some of these songs can even be found on Spotify).
If people are interested I will compile an MP3 folder with every song listed for offline playing.
There are a couple problems here. I don’t believe those are copyright free songs. So it’s illegal for you to create MP3’s / download / distribute.
As much as I HATE current copyright law and copyright trolls / lawsuits, youtube “strikes” and automated takedown requests with no chance of challenge, we need to be aware of them. Especially since playing this music during matches and eliminations gets the videos taken down. If you watch old match video, FIRST has lost quite a few matches due to those take downs.
You might have better luck making a copyright free list.
Yeah, I completely forgot about the illegal download and distribute aspect of that, I will NOT be doing that.
As for youtube, as much as I would like to make a no copyright playlist, the fact is that it just won’t be as good, carry the same energy, etc. (but don’t get me wrong, I may attempt making a NC playlist)
I would present the idea of maybe leaving the audio coming from the field/arena out of the stream and only allowing the announcer’s voice to come through. I know that is easier said than done, but I do believe it’s possible. That would protect the official match stream from getting taken down at least.
