OM5P-AN and RoboRio communctication problem

Every time we start our robot, the RoboRio fails to establish an ethernet link to the wireless router. Pressing the “reset” button on the RoboRio brings the link up with no issues. The RoboRio is connected to the 802.11af port on the router, and connecting a laptop to the RoboRio works as well. I’m not sure if it’s a bug in the firmware we flashed, or whether the RoboRio NIC itself is having an issue with the router.

If I were to take a guess, I would say the router isn’t initializing fast enough and the RoboRio is shutting down the ethernet port when the ACK requests time out.

We’ve flashed the RoboRio with the 2016 firmware, as well as flashed and configured the OM5P-AN for our team number.

Move the roboRIO Ethernet connector to the POE port on the OpenMesh, the one closest to the power connector.
A small number of radios seem to have an issue with connecting immediately to the roboRIO through the 802 port.

Thanks - this resolved the issue. I’m not sure why using the af port causes an issue. ::safety::
