Has anyone used the output pins on the USB controller on the OMIO? We’d like to have our dust collection and coolant automatically turn on with Mach3 if possible. We could also use a current sense off the spindle, but there’s two output pins on the board already. Any help is appreciated.
Whether or not this is even possible, depends what controller you ended up with. The X6 I bought last year has a semi useless menu for configuring anything related to the controller with the BL-UsbMach. But I did find some documentation on what looks to be the board. https://www.steppermotorcanada.ca/bl5breakoutboard.pdf
While the X8 I worked with previously has a menu that I could at least read and had test output buttons. This plugin is ncusbpod. I haven’t dug into this one much but it looks fairly configurable in mach3.
I don’t know if this is tied to model, or age of omio. You can check by going to plugin control. I have generally had a good response emailing omio directly with issues.
Keep in mind your VFD is in the controller box so you need to be careful opening that up, also I think it voids your warranty if that’s a thing you care about.
Big yikes on that menu, dang.
