On the topic of gloves

I personally disagree with the mention of “always wear gloves when working with metal” during the kickoff. The rule I almost always follow is “never wear gloves when operating power tools or machinery.” Gloves are much stronger than human skin. If caught in a drill bit or other rotating tool, it will pull your whole hand in, rather than tearing.

Gloves do not always = safety!

Be careful this season!

True. OSHA happens to agree with you. It also comes down to the fact that if you are working with stuff that requires dexterity you probably shouldn’t be wearing gloves.

Wood working is close enough to metal working.
