Onshape DXF Issue

My team uses Onshape for all of our CAD. We have been very happy so far with the product but this past weekend something happened. Everything we export as a dxf (or similar file) inverts every fillet. EVERY ONE. We’ve tried everything, mulitple computers, browsers, files, exporting as step and re-importing. Everything still gets inverted in the final product. Is anyone else experiencing these issues or have a workaround that might work?

Sorry but our team has not noticed these issues. I would recommend Onshape support though.

We had some problems exporting DXFs on Onshape this weekend as well and we haven’t had any in the past. Maybe this is some kind of bug?

Where is your final product going? Is it possible that software is reading the DXF incorrectly? We have exported one DXF file for our shooter hood, which has bent polycarb, into Fusion 360 with no issues.

I’ve always made a 1:1 drawing and exported that as dxf without issue

We also had this issue recently. What I ended up doing is exporting my splines as polylines, and then it worked fine. Maybe this will work for you too.

Good luck!!

I can see the dxf itself is wrong even before we bring it into another program. Its an onshape issue for sure.

Same here, just started this weekend.

I just tried it, still am getting inverted fillets.

Maybe try and older DXF version too? I was pretty sure it was just the polyline thing that fixed it, but maybe it was both together.

Still no luck, I’ll keep trying stuff.

Sorry it did not work.

Another work around (depending on exactly what you are doing) would be to export the part as a step file, and then make a print using a different CAD software, like Solidworks or Inventor, if you have one of those installed.

Shoot me a dm with screenshots and share the part with me. Happy to take a look!

how do you export your dxf files? i think if you just right click on the face, it should work.

Thankfully Onshape support fixed the bug for us! All good again!
