Onshape - Official CRESCENDO Field and KitBot Models

Happy 2024 Kickoff everyone!

The PTC Education team has put together two official Onshape field models of the CRESCENDO competition field. These Onshape documents contain the full field model, organized folders of the subassemblies, and a how-to guide for new users. The optimized version of the field reduces geometry primitives to load by about 75%.

The optimized version with hardware removed for significantly faster loading (recommended):

The original imported version with all the hardware:

We’ve also created an Onshape-native model of the 2024 KitBot. This should make it much easier for teams to modify and improve upon the provided mechanisms. There’s also a how-to guide for new Onshape users.

Best of luck this season! Let me know if you have any questions.

Do you mind making the polycarb plates on the stage less transparent so that it is easier to see where there is a pannel and where there is not.

Sure, but you can also change this on your copy of the field if you want. I’ve broken up the part studios for each element into their folders, so I think it should be easy to find the polycarbonate panels and change their appearances. If you need help doing this let me know!

Hello! Would you know if there is a full field file I can upload to Fusion 360 ?

This is a OnShape post, so they probably don’t know. But I did it, just get the field STEP file, hit Upload in the top left of the “file” selector, and it imports fine.
