With Kickoff right around the corner, the Onshape Education team has opened registration for our webinar titled “Kicking Off the 2024 FRC Season with Onshape Resources”. This webinar will be on Thursday, January 11th at 7:00 PM ET. We hope this later time allows those on the west coast to attend!
This webinar will likely be shorter than some of our past ones. A lot of the teams here will already be deep into their prototypes and CAD designs by Thursday, but we’re hoping to catch the attention of teams who want help getting the most out of the KitBot model and the 2024 FRC Field model. We’ll also go over some other resources that teams should make the most of during the season, like helpful FeatureScripts and the MKCAD library.
Will be there a way to email someone with questions after the webinar if we cannot attend live?
7pm will be right in the middle of our mid-week night time meeting so I’ll be registering but will just watch the recordings at a later time.
Sure, you can email first (at) ptc.com and I’llLimelight, an integrated vision coprocessor respond. Feel free to ask questions in this thread too, I’m on CDChief Delphi too much and will probably see it here just as fast.
…It’s getting there?
While it’s not CAM, there’s some cool stuff slated for tomorrow’s 1.174 release that will be of interest to FRCFIRST Robotics Competition teams.
Just saw the release and watched the vid at the bottom of this page and had a question regarding the simulations. Will the simulations only be accessible to the “educator” or the teacher, or do people with student accounts also have access to it?
I’m asking because I have a student account but don’t see anything for sims in my assemblies.
Great question, and thanks for reminding me I needed to post about it! I’ve got an FAQ over here, and hopefully that answers your questions.
On the Student account you currently have you won’t see any simulations. If you are added to a Classroom (which your team can make), you’ll be able to use Simulation on any documents. It doesn’t matter if that document is owned by the classroom or not.
