Ontario to Tentatively Resume Extra Curriculars Come the Fall

For those that haven’t seen it yet, this article/plan came out yesterday.

While I am still super hesitant about restarting FRC in Ontario and wanting to be cautious so that once we return, we don’t stop again; I also find myself extremely excited to see this news.

We are just that much closer to being able to set foot in a classroom again!

And for those unaware, yes, access to classrooms for any form of extra curricular in Ontario has been shut since the start of the pandemic. I quite literally haven’t stepped foot in our build space or school in 1.5 years now (as I’m sure is the case with many others around the globe).

I am waiting to hear if mentors who are not teachers will be allowed in schools yet.

Yes, this will be a big thing for sure. There are still lots of unanswered questions.

We are also waiting to find out if our school/principal will fall in line with these guidelines, or choose to keep things locked down longer as they see fit.

Our school district in CA is allowing parents/volunteers on campus (so far). It is difficult to be both wary of the virus and desperate for normal operations to resume.
