Open House Powerpint

I made a brief powerpoint for our school’s open house this week. Any comments? Suggestions? Constructive criticism?

The two “blank” slides are video slides. They didn’t transfer over to Google docs in the upload. The first one is the game animation. The “Look who’s talking!” slide has the will.i.am video from the splash page (remember, I’m trying to convince 7th and 8th graders that we’re not a bunch of nerds, rather that we are cerds (cool nerds).) Thanks for the feedback!

Looks good! As a note, there are now $14 million worth of scholarships available.

That’s great! I guess the scholarship information poster is out of date. I’ll have to make the changes!

You are not a club, even if that is what you are officially registered as with the school. You guys are a team, a collabration of people working together to accomplish objectives while learning and having fun.

In your 2nd slide stating what you do I would put down learning, engineering, and change maybe public relations into community outreach or something like that to feel more personal to people.

In the 3rd slide make a giant, bold line about curiosity/willingness to learn since I believe that is a key component for students to have, a willingness to learn new stuff whether its how to properly design or solder.

For your 4th slide I would put down real life experience, since FIRST has the time limits and start times, and a need to solve problem(s) in crunch time.

Good luck on getting your community interested at the open house.
