Team 1690 is pleased to announce Orbit Infinite RESTART, an Israeli off-season event that will take place on March 24th + 25th at our school in Binyamina, Israel.
The event will be comprised of 2 small one-day events, that will each feature 10 teams competing in a 2v2 version of Infinite Recharge.
To comply with COVID regulations, each team is allowed to bring up to 20 students/mentors, 2 of which are required to be volunteers in the event. To come to the event, everyone must be either vaccinated (in Israel basically everyone over the age of 16 is already vaccinated) or get tested negative within 72 hours of the event. Also, masks will be mandatory, there will be a 4 person limit in each pit, seating will be spaced out as much as possible, and no eating inside the venue (to limit unmasking time).
The following rule changes will be issued for the 2v2 format:
-No color wheel (bridge stays)
-No bumps in the middle of the field
-Each alliance starts with 5 Power Cells outside, and overflow starts at 12 instead of 15
-No bonus RPs in quals for Control Panel stages(obviously) and no bonus RPs for climbs
-1 extra RP for an alliance that scores over 40 Power Cells regardless of which port they were scored in.
-Each team plays 10 qualification matches, forming 5 alliances, no picks inside the top 5 seeds.
-Elims will be a Round Robin among the 5 alliances, with 2 alliances advancing to finals.
-The final will be a 3v3 Infinite Recharge match, with both alliances getting to pick a robot from the 3rd ranked alliance, according to ranking order in the Round Robin.
The field will be a wooden field with automatic scoring in both goals and a modified version of Cheesy Arena
