Is there any way to override the power limit on motors and motor controllers to be able to give a motor more power for a long shot or when climbing at full speed in the last few seconds of the match. If anyone has any ideas please share them down below.

The limiting factor here is the voltage available from the battery. I don’t believe there are any FRC legal ways to increase the voltage, and therefore speed, of your motor.
As for current, I’m not overly familiar with the SparkMAX on the current limiting side, but most FRC legal motor controllers are actually capable of supplying more than the legal 40amps for a short period. The breakers in your PDP can also supply over that amount for a short period before they disconnect.
