Ozzyboards products

It looks like the other Ozzyboards thread got moved somewhere, but does anybody know if this product: http://ozzyboards.com/talon-srx-direct-mount-encoder-breakout/ can be flipped around, or is the spacing the Talon such that it should only mount one way? I was going to order some but wasn’t sure if it was possible to mount it flipped around and risk a short.
The new 775-powerpole connectors look fire too. Hopefully they’ll work with the new AM-3775- I’m not sure if the connector spacing is standard. Of course, 1072 still needs Andersons…

Ohhhhhh those 775pro connectors are sweeeeet! Definitely would make a lot of wiring jobs a lot cleaner. Looks like Ozzyboards will be providing files to 3d print a cover as well, definitely going to be the cleanest solution I’ve seen yet.

The direct mount breakout board looks cool too, probably going to order one as well to try it out. Just noticed that the prices in general are a lot cheaper than what VEX or CTRE offers, 3 dollars for the encoder breakout board compared to the 10 that vex charges, looks like a good source for bulk orders.

Forgive me if I’m misunderstanding, but wouldn’t flipping the board around result in flipping the gadgeteer data plug around too? So you would not get the expected connections on the breakout board.

I believe that’s why he’s asking that question. If I’m not wrong, I think hes trying to verify if there is some precaution taken that prevents a team from accidentally inserting it the wrong way, since it doesn’t appear that the port on the board is keyed like most other gadgeteer connectors are.

Oh you can buy these things now? I heard about Ozzyboards but thought it went to vaporware.

These - http://ozzyboards.com/775pro-inline-powerpole-connector/
in particular are really dope and for $5 I can’t see why you wouldnt buy one for every 775pro you own. Really cuts down on failure points especially on teams where there isnt anyone with much soldering experience.

Some cool products here already and I believe the company is maintained by a student in FRC so I am happy to support them.

I don’t think Ozzy Boards is going away, even though it appears that the announcements are no longer going to be on CD. It appears the CD posts were pulled for reasons **other **than production and delivery.

Thats curious. At this point I’ll assume there’s no hidden motives and something bad went on in the thread - especially since these look like such awesome products. I know we’re already planning on a 775 order of the back plates since those silly tabs are one of our main failure points when team members don’t pay attention to how fragile the are.

Curious as well, but we’re also considering a number of those 775 plates.

Has anyone looked to see if there’s any interference when mounted to a VP gearbox?

There shouldn’t be; the connector will end before the face of the motor and the wires after it are flexible.

If anyone from Ozzy Boards monitors CD, will any more of the 775 Inline Powerpole Connectors be available soon??? It looks like I just purchased the last 10 they had (don’t be hatin’).

Update from the supplier… They do still have inventory available to ship out well before kick-off and even more coming.

Recommendation from me: Don’t wait too long to get your orders in…I suspect demand will still exceed supply!

Just bought ten. Wow, what a cool product line!

Cool products and very fair prices. In for a few.

Super useful. Anyone know the folks behind the products? The About Us page is blank.

User pilleya is at least a part of Ozzyboards, if not the founder.

I’ve emailed with the owner of Ozzy, and I will be starting a Poll Thread in Electrical to gauge interest in another product of his. I really like the design and practicality of the 775 board especially.

He is really open to new ideas and yes, I’m sure that pilleya is the owner.

I know it has only been a couple weeks, but has anyone received their 775 connectors yet? I want to order a few but want to wait to see what the thoughts on them are.

My order status was changed to “Shipped” on Dec 11 but I haven’t received my boards just yet.

Will try to post an update as soon as I get them.
