Pacman field piece

Our students christened this ball “PACMAN” after a fairly interesting failure…

On further inspection, the two halves were never properly fused - there’s areas at both ends of the “mouth” where the plastic doesn’t show any form of damage.

Has anyone else seen this? So far it’s 1 out of the 12 FUEL we’ve opened and examined.

EDIT: Note, this is after some use - it was unfused in 2 places as shipped, then

Also, my students saw this post, tried to comment, and then gave up when they needed to “register”.
Apparently I should be on Instafacetube, that’s where all the action is.

When I clicked on this topic I expected to see a line of fuel being gobbled up off the floor by your robot with appropriate background music but this is nice too.

I sometimes wonder how much more productive the team would be during build season if Instafacetube didn’t exist.

Oh well,
Steve

This would be much better. Someone needs to do this for a reveal video. Except the gear is like an anti-power pellet because it makes everyone chase you…

Our team bought about 200 of these things from Andymark I believe, could be wrong. Anyway I don’t believe we have had any problems with the balls themselves coming apart or anything, and we’ve been shooting them out of our robot to test the mechanism I haven’t heard word of any of them breaking. Where did you get the fuel from? The people manufacturing them might also vary the quality of the fuel.

This is Andymark fuel.
Great! Seems like we just got the Lucky 6th-Sigma Fuel Ball then. Maybe the students can turn it into a robot cart decoration…

@Kevin & Waz, yes. That would be fantastic. I’m sorry to have let you down… :frowning:

Not exactly what you said you’d like see but close enough.
