Here is a no context funny/ spooky clip that proves a very basic rule’s necessity. I wonder if non event participant people can guess what is up.
Turn the fans off.
We had a few of those on practice day at Los Angeles Regional when someone turned the building fans up to full power by accident. Once the humans felt the breeze, the fans were turned down.
We had the same problem in 2022 at NERD where balls were not going high enough because they were being pushed down by the fans.
MTTD 2013, the fans in the gym pushed frisbees down as they traveled towards the high goal, causing a lot of missed shots. All weekend, a volunteer was stationed at the A/C controls to turn the unit on/off between matches. @R.C and @nabors remember. Good times!
It’s been some days, I guess we need the answer. Ceiling fans are not common in Türkiye, but was a similar case. Our problem was a bit simpler to solve…
Something that if done at an official event would cause, er, repercussions. As I recall, drones are banned in the Event Manual. I could be wrong on that, will check when I get home if I’m not beaten to it.
iirc they are banned, because i remember a conversation with a media member about drones at comps and why they’re banned
This video is one reason for the ban…
Yes! I totally agree! We were angry about the situation and not aware of the fact that the drone was still running. I amAndyMark the flag waving referee at the first clip, and there have been some close passes on top of our heads during match play. Some people are just not good listeners about the rules…
That’s the Game Manual. I’m looking for an E rule.
But that’s a pretty good reminder… if the team operating were on the field at the time, pretty much an immediate straight yellow card.
