It’s an annual frustration for us: Our bank puts a per-day limit on our debit card, so we have to spread payments over several days. Has anybody found an easy way to make a partial payment of a registration fee without going through the “Please fill out our information and sometime in the next week we’ll send you a link” process? [We asked for that last week and… nothing yet.]
Usually you can call/go to the bank and have these limits temporarily lifted for larger purchases. Its unfortunate if your bank doesn’t do this for you or there is some other mechanism blocking it.
Is paying with a personal card and getting reimbursed a reasonable alternative?
Going old school here, but are checks an option?
What about bank transfers like Zelle or a literal bank check from the account? Zelle has their own rules, but is same day. Bank checks clear quickly and srent subject to card limits.
Thx. FIRST did send us a set of separate payment links. Just ended up doing it like that.
It’s an option, but I’m the Treasurer and I really don’t like the optics of writing myself a $6000 check from the team account. In the past, I’ve done it, with full visibility to other mentors, but I still don’t like it.
On my personal account, Zelle has a per-day limit (something like $2K). Does FIRST even take Zelle? An old fashioned check-in-the-mail would work.
In the end, I think FIRST just needs an easier way to make separate payments to our account at FIRST.
