Parts Request: 32dp 12t 775pro pinion

Does anyone have any of the 32dp 12t pinion gears for the 775 pro motor? We are in need of six for our off-season project, and WCP is out of stock until December. We will purchase. Thanks very much!

We’ve been buying these and just drilling them out to press on to the motors.

Do you have access to a lathe? I just turned six pinions yesterday with 12t 32dp gear stock from McMaster Carr and a 5 mm reamer. I have about 7.5 inches left, enough for about 7 to 8 more of them. I could make you some

We do have a lathe; that’s a great idea. Thanks!

How do you figure out what a good hole size is for a press fit on the motor shaft?

I’ve had good success using a 0.1950"(Mcmaster #8307A355) or 0.1955"(Mcmaster #8307A356) for a 5mm nominal bore. I’d use the 0.1950 on softer materials like aluminum and the 0.1955 on steel.

Works great on a cheapo Harbor Freight lathe!

Second this. Did this for some of our offseason projects this year and worked great. I used this drill bit to open up the bore on the gear close to the press diameter and then this reamer to finish the job. I did use a couple drill bits to step it up slowly before using the 4.9mm bit I linked to.

Using them with the 32DP 85T 3/8" Hex Gear AndyMark sells to go with them.

Chuck the stock up in a 7/16 collet if you have one, center drill with a stubby bit, pre drill for 5mm reamer with number 10 drill bit, with reamer, ream at 1/2 speed, 2x feed of a 5mm drill bit. Then to hold the pinions on the shafts just use some green 648 loctite bearing retention compound (only a small drop) and push the pinions onto the shafts. Be sure to have the motors sit upside down so the loctite can’t seep into the motor bearings while it cures.
