Hey Everyone!!!
Are you excited yet~? Silicon Valley regional is less than a week away, and it's time for us to show off our robots to the rest of country. Yup! NASA is webcasting this regional again. This competition should be tons of fun, and I look forward to meet you all at San Jose.
This year, we are going to try setting up the followings at Silicon Valley Regional, so tell me if you team is interested in being a part of all these:
Spare parts and hardware sharing/swapping
Establish a list of spare parts, tools, and material we are bringing to San Jose, so needing teams can go to the WRRF table, look at the list, and go to teams with available parts/tools to borrow/swap for them. The list will keep track of who borrowed what from which team.
Battery sharing/swapping for finals
We all know how intense this year’s game is, so let’s share our batteries with teams at finals. So, those who have extra batteries and chargers, please share that wealth. Also, in the unlikely event that your team doesn’t get into the finals , it will be great if you can share your battery with teams who are.
Programming help
Establish a list of programmers from teams who are willing to help out others in the robot program, so needing teams can go to them and ask for help.
Joint team scouting effort
A few of us volunteers started a group call “Western Intelligence Scouting Helpers” (W.I.S.H.), and we are getting teams together for a joint scouting effort. The PLAN is to get teams to scout and collect competition data in this regional, the IDEA is to share realistic competition data to help EVERY teams plan matches, and the GOAL is to get teams to work, cheer, talk, and have fun together!
Strategy meeting for coaches and drivers
At the end of Thursday after practice matches, teams will get together and share some of their advices about competing in this year’s game and just about anything else related to this competition. Hopefully this will help teams to play smart and score tons of points!
It will be REALLY COOL if we can do this at Silicon Valley regional. Not only is this very helpful to teams participating in this regional (especially rookie teams).
Oh yeah, Who in here is going to Silicon Valley regional~?
Good Luck!
And look forward to seeing you all!
