Perhaps my biggest disappointment

Perhaps my biggest disappointment this year, and something that I will truly absolutely miss, is the presence of defensive powerhouses that no one, NO ONE could budge. Right now most likely anyone with FIRST experience is thinking of the Juggernauts. To see their reincarnation of a rock-solid, caterpillar-quality, nearly construction-work capable machine each year always brought a smile, and a headache when going up against them. While I in NO way am saying that the Juggernaut presence, along with all the other teams that have opted for defensive wonders in the past, ( can anyone say '99 Technokats and their godly super-arm??) will fail to be felt this year, as I am sure they will fair extremely well like always, but not in their usual fashion. Although the past defensive lineage of some teams will be missed, I am however quite eager to see what they concoct under such circumstances that truly seem to place minimal emphasis on need for a solid and defensive robot. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to see what this year has to bring, although it may be much more skeptical than my outlook of previous years.

I feel the same way, I kinda liked building a tank each year

But, just wondering, how is this going to change the mini-comp mindset of “well, we’re not going to use this again, lets rip the thing to shreds”?

The thing about the mini comps is that you get to make any changes to the rules that you wish…but you have to realize that teams will not make design changes in order to play them. I already am thinking…what if you did not “reset the field” after a game…except for dumping the balls out of the towers??? What would that do to the next team that had to use the field?
