I would like to send a petition to FIRST requesting that they consider taking CHAOS off
the waiting list and letting them participate. The petition would read.
To whom it may concern.
We the undersigned respectfully ask the the organizers of FIRST reconsider the position of our
fellow team mates # 131 CHAOS. This is in the interest of moral and camaraderie.
As team members, we would be willing to sacrifice some of our space to accommodate the
tight space in the NE regional`s, consider it the part of 'sharing ’ that we each have learnt as
members of the FIRST competition.
9’ of space from each team on one row of competitors would give team 131 the minimal space
needed to work on their BOT.
Possibly a few trailers could be parked next to the rear doors to accommodate extra teams, I for
one would not mind sharing space in a trailer with other teams for the period of time at the
NE regional`s.
Signed…Team #…
If you agree to this petition then post your name and team # at the bottom of this petition and
I will send it off to first on Monday October 9 2000, Email your friends and team mates, have
them post their names. The more names and teams the better.
A strong unity of voice can’t be ignored.

Not going to NE… but I know CHAOS (the National FINALIST!!!) Should be able to participate. Cater to the teams that live close by- don’t make them suffer by not letting them in and forcing them to either A.) not attand a regional or B.) Attend a further regional with less team support due to this.

Thank you, Nick. If you hadn’t started this petition, I would have.
I firmly agree to this petition, both as a FIRST team member and as the co-founder of the Robot Chicks Union. My other co-founder (my partner in crime) needs to be there to help me out on what the RCU has planned; without her I don’t think I could pull it off.
Without CHAOS I don’t have her, so its absolutley necessary that they come. I am more than willing to give up some space for them, as much as they need.

Let me repeat…About a week ago, one of the funniest strands on this site was about Bar Loks. It was great to follow and got tons of posts. But now, please forget this CHAOS petition stuff. We are first on the waiting list and will see what happens. As for Chief Delphi coming to town, let me go back two years…Ladder Logic, 1998.
We had great seeding matches in NE, and were in the Quarter finals, Semi Finals and Finals. The two teams in the Finals were Chief Delphi and CHAOS. They beat us soundly that day. What is more important is what they did for us as a team. Anyone who has coached sports will tell you that you do not grow without playing people better than you are. As a result of that day, we did grow. A feeling developed on our team to become better. The years 1999 and 2000 were tremendous for us and maybe without having C.D. in New England, that would not have happened. We have just had 15 super students graduate, many of them learned this lesson two years ago. This is a rebuilding year for us. I want my new members to get that same feeling, play strong teams and get stronger. See good teams in action and try your best to do more than they do. In the FIRST program, the sky is the limit, not just playing matches but in all the other areas that FIRST encompasses. This is a lot for a quiet guy to say, but…NO PETITIONS…and Thanks for coming to New England Joe, you provide teams with a goal.
