PG71 Gearmotor Legal

Question: Is the Andy Mark PG71 Gearmotor legal? The game/robot manual was kinda vague.

You could try putting the part number into a question on the FRC q&a, but odds are the answer will be that if it’s not listed in the table on R32, it’s not legal.

We are waiting on an answer. We were hoping for a quick answer on this forum.

Of note, generally an answer you get on CD doesn’t constitute an official answer.

You had me there,
R32 “AndyMark PG” am-2161 =
RS775-5 Motor For PG71 and PG188 Gearbox (am-2161) 0r (am-2765)
as the RS775-5 is also listed (Pro775)
I am fairly sure its legal

have Fun!

Q431 mentions “…the motor is am-0939…” The AndyMark site shows 0939 is a gearbox, not a motor. (http://www.andymark.com/product-p/am-0939.htm)

You may want to double-check the AndyMark site and edit Q431 so they provide an accurate answer.

They’re messing with you. The AndyMark PG motors have been on the approved list for several years now. See R32, seventh row (as defined by lines) down. Check your part numbers, of course, but that’s where you’ll find them. The key item is the motor; gearboxes are mostly unregulated, except for the few cases where gearboxes are considered to be integral with the motors (as in automotive door and window and lock motors).
