**Thank you to all the teams who attended our unveiling, I hope you all had a good time and it was educational.
BG i really hope you robot didn’t get damaged during our little struggle over goals. All the robots impressed me.

It was alot of fun…and we thank you for inviting us!
I think the thing that the first thing we learned tonight is that a good set-up checklist is vital. (like the airline pilots go through before takeoff)
We intro’d the robot and had our left drive motor totally DEAD…all we did was spin around the left fast when introduced, and the crowd actually went wild…we went wild too, knowing that the left side was totally dead.
The cause of the problem…we forgot to plug in the left side joystick!! (better it happen in a mall at a mock competition than at the real thing)
The entire BG team thanks BAE and their teams for the invitation.

PS: Good luck to all the teams there in their losing weight…it’s a tough task…
I’ve been told that some of the students on the Nashua High team acted very ungraciously at the unveiling. I hope that you won’t judge the team by the actions of a few, and that you take me up on the offer of using our field this weekend.
I know that there will always be a rivalry between NHS and BG, but i’ve heard some kids were very out of line on Wednesday night. Once again i hope to see you this weekend and at UTC.

The Wildcards **
Chris,
I am not sure what you are refering to, but please do not worry about it because this never came up once when the BG team went back to FIRST BASE for a postmortum discussion.
The BG team all felt that the opportunity to run with 4 other robots was worth it’s weight in gold. Particularly since ALL of our students, and most of our parents/Engineers have ZERO experience with FIRST and a competition.
We really appreciate the Mall demo, and if all goes well, we will try our hardest to come to the weekend invite!
(We do have more work to do on the robot though, and that comes first)
BTW: Do we need to phone ahead to verify that we are or are not coming?
What time and day can we come by?
Thanks,
-Quentin Lewis

Call the Team “Common Area” at 885-9544. Ask Chris Mikus about accees to the Guarde for practice. Leave a message with a reliable student if I’m not there. You could always try the Guarde itself -8188 (I think). I should be there Fri, Sat, Sun, and Mon.
