Phoenix Tuner and test code not working together

If I run out code to RoboRio by running the RobotMain.vi then start Phoenix tuner I immediately get a “Lost Connection to Target” error on Labview and code stop executing.

This is over the USB tether and same over wireless connection.

If I start Tuner then try to run out code I get an error that the target won’t respond.

Anyone seeing the same thing?

Tuner will run with with code deployed to RoboRio but that is hugely inconvenient.

what are you doing to “start” the phoenix tuner? If you are manually clicking “start a server” that would make you lose connection to the robot(I’m pretty sure, I have never tried it for myself). If you are just opening the phoenix tuner and that problem is occuring, I really have no idea what is happening.

Just starting it.

Not trying to run the “Temporary Diagnostic Server”.

what are you trying to do with the tuner?

Set PID values on Talon SRX’s.

Use self test to examine encoders and other controller values.

Watch the graphs of motor output.

Okay, so I will be in robotics in about 20 min and if there isn’t any solutions by then, I will try and imitate the problem. Can’t tell what would be causing the problem. suggest redownloading in the meantime.

Which version of Phoenix are you running?
This is a known issue with the Kickoff version of Phoenix.

Upgrading to 5.17.4 or later will fix the issue.
(Keep in mind you need to go through the process for preparing you robot again after updating: https://phoenix-documentation.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ch06_PrepRobot.html#labview)

Thanks that did the trick.
Was told we were on the latest so I didn’t check.
Easy fix, thanks.
