Does picture quality matter? Basically because my digital camera sucks and I don’t feel like putting film in my Minolta SLR (Although I guess I could whip out the Nikon 880…buah…might be better than my 1.3Mp Olympus D-370…hee)
Maybe it’s time to clean up the dark room in the basement. I think there’s still the right stuff to do it. I’m pretty sure our enlarger works… shrug It’s buried under computer junk
While I won’t be one of the judges, I don’t feel this contest can only be won by the person with the best camera or darkroom…Sometimes the best picture is just being lucky enough to have a camera with you at the right time.

I think a 5th category should be added for ‘The Robot and or Parts’ … this is a pretty big part of FIRST but doesn’t seem to fit under any of the other categories.
The intention of this contest is to focus on the artistic skills of the students of first. Team member pictures can be taken during construction or competition, perhaps on one of your trips. The competition shot could really cover things on the field, or an action shot of your drivers. The “spirit of FIRST” shot can represent anything that is an important part of your program.
Get creative and any pictures you want to enter (a close up of a well engineered part?) can find a category to fit in.
The judges are looking forward to your entries.
Chewy… good idea for another contest, but this one is for photos. It would be too difficult to judge with varying media.
Jon… Thanks, you broke the tie! I said we should allow four entries per team… someone else said I was asking for trouble (800+ teams multiplied by four pictures coming into my e-mail…). All you had to say was PLEASE… and anyway… Trouble’s my other middle name!
TEAMS MAY ENTER ONE PHOTE FOR EACH OF THE FOUR CATEGORIES
