I have posted my photos of the 2010 Michigan Championship event at
Thank you, once again, for all of your photographs. They are truly wonderful and without you, many teams will not have the “best” shots of their team/robot. Every competition you attend, it seems that you manage to get amazing photos. :]
Thanks again,
Jason Law
The Duke boys ain’t got nuthin’ on 910…
Thanks so much for the awesome pictures!
Thanks Dan, for continuing to get excellent, high quality pictures for everyone to enjoy! I know many people really appreciate it, me included!
Amazing pictures! Thank you!
Any tips for taking photos like you? It seems like all the photos I take are either blurry (too low shutter speed) or too dark (high shutter speed).
The camera I’m using is a Canon Rebel XSi.
M. Wong,
The lighting at most FIRST events is terrible.
I cover what I do to compensate in my post at:

If you’re in Atlanta and see me, introduce yourself and I’ll try to help.
Personally, I have a D40 with the Nikkor 55-200mm VR lens, which gives me some shots that aren’t blurred, at least at MSC. Dunno about Atlanta. Can’t wait!
Thanks a lot Mr. Ernst for the pics!
is this a regional or championship? (Michigan Championship 2010 - I am confused)
Michigan works a little differently than most other places in the world, we have small district tournaments (mini-regionals) and team get points based on how they do at those districts. After that, a certain amount of teams qualify for the Michigan State Championship (which is basically a regional) and from there, teams qualify to go to atlanta.
Great shots, looked like a really competitive event!
Thanks again for sharing your work! Your pictures are wonderful! We really appreciate them!
