Nice picture!
It looks like you’re using 1/4" Lexan side plates for your tranny(s). How will that hold up?
EDIT: That robot’s either on or being back-driven (the victors are all lit up). Maybe next time you could delay nap time until the robot is powered down. Cute shot, though.
I like rivets…
That is an expensive footrest. Seriously though, that does look like it will hold up pretty well.
I hope the protective paper on the Lexan comes out from under those rivets
Anyway… Looks beautiful.
That is nice. Ours is like an arm rest.
Hmm that would make a nice center peice in my living room.
It needs a massager… or at least cushions.
The robot was actually disabled and waiting to be programed in that pic, the camera man just got all the victors on the on part of the blink. The plastic does come out from under the rivets quite nicely if you look we have taken it out of several areas on the inside of the robot.
All of the side plating is 1/8 inch lexan which we got from a local plastics supplier for quite cheap. The sheet of 1/4 inch that is being used for the lifter was free. when I told him that we were a high school robotics team, he just gave it to me. That transmition is actually amazingly strong and simple (took about a day or two to go from comception to finished product) when compared to older things that we have built in the past.
