why there is a cut-out can be a teaser
Special thanks to 340 (and 424) for help with welding and machining!
I know why there is a cut-out but I’ll keep that little secret to myself. It looks good. Can’t wait to see it run fully assembled.
Powder blue makes it a very classy chassis.
Hey Rees! I’m Joe (the dude who had the NAVY sweatshirt on)
I forgot to mention in the description:
SPECIAL THANKS TO TEAM 340 (and 424) G.R.R.!!!
They welded the chassis and milled some parts for us. They also provided our team something much more important: FOOD!
Is the warping of the frame from the welding?
Bengineer
There is no warping that I can see. Perhaps you’re looking at the robot being a little bit off the ground? The kitbot extrusion extends downwards about an inch.
Also, the cardboard it is sitting on isn’t perfectly flat.
Hey Joe, how’s Charles IV running? I still have to check out the youtube video.
Sorry, I’m just looking at the top half of the frame (or is it actually the bottom half?) and it just doesn’t look straight. I guess it’s just an optical illusion from the checkered tablecloth behind it and the rest of the stuff in the room. Best of luck!

It was running great, thanks to you guys. We calculated close to 14 fps. We threw a caster on the front for the video. It was painful to take the gearboxes and wheels off yesterday so we could paint it :(, but it will all be worth it tomorrow
Ben, you may be right. I wasn’t looking at that part of the photo. Runs downstairs to basement to check if frame is warped It is! By about 3/16 of an inch at most. I don’t think this should be a problem, but if it is then we may have to use a “Robot Persuading Tool.”
Thanks for pointing that out, the picture seems to exaggerate it a bit.
i like it. but it DOESNT HAVE WHEELS IS IT GOING TO FLY?? JKJK
We have two powered 6 inch diam. 2 inch width IFI traction wheels on the back
The front is yet to be revealed
I am so excited to see what Finney is coming up with this year! I can not wait to see all of you guys again! Looks good, and I will see you at the regional! :yikes:
