For the life of me i cant figure out what it does…
it looks like an upside-down sawhorse, but i imagine it is far more useful…
I think (and I’m probably wrong) that the V can rotate, pick up a ball, rotate back to vertical, and launch using the same rollers.
Haha, not quite…the rollers aren’t THAT powerful, the “V” does rotate, it goes about 270 degree-ish and the rollers have a grippy material which can pick up and release a ball allowing for possession of the ball.
It’s a simple yet a pretty effective system
See you guys in Hartford!
WOW!!
Okay… how the hell does this thing work:ahh: & how did u think of it?..lol
well GL & I can’t wait to get my A/Q back…I am going crazy trying to understand what in the world this thing does…:ahh:
it looks great though, so keep up the good work!
Daniel Solomon…1001 Captin
nice, i was wondering if any teams were going to pinch this year
at least… that is what it seems
i’ll have to take a closer look this saturday
Knowing RAGE they probably employed some sort of telescopic arm to lift the trackball up. As you can see on the front there are L-shape brackets that probably rest on the overpass.
Very unique design
I don’t think it hurdles. But it doesn’t need to.
If you don’t have an autonomous mode, you could just have the V swing back and forth. It would entertain an audience for at least a minute. :]

Very cool design. Any chance we can get a video of it in action?
If I know RAGE, they should be at the scrimmage this Saturday in CT… Maybe.
Watch the Suffield Shakedown webcast.
Very interesting?.?.?
Does it shoot the ball out like squeezing a grape and popping out the seed? If so, cool… Looks like a great way to pick up the ball. And now for the obvious question, where does the big flag go? up the side?
The mechanism for the flag is not attached, mainly because we didn’t have the pneumatic cylinder for it last night. It goes on the near side of the robot.
looking good, i’ll have to check it out at the scrimmage on sat.
it looks like its made of wood?
Is it?
Yes, the frame is made of 9 ply Baltic Birch plywood. We’ve always built the base out of it and will continue to until there’s a good reason to change.
The red wood base is a RAGE trademark!
J-Rod, the robot looks great, can’t wait to see it.
