let me guess… 1755’s bot was dead so it started on top of 1850?
Oh wow… This is classic. I’m at a loss for words for how much I love this strategy.
All i can say is WOW, that is a great strategy to go with. Great thinking.
Except that you now only have 1 robot for the entire match… The two robots in the pile were E-Stopped immediately for safety reasons.
this is true, but 30 poonts is better than 0 points
incredible.
This maybe this year’s strategical equivalent of the A-Bomb from last year. It also maybe the best autonomous program we’ll see this year…unless someone can manage to get 60.
Simply Amazing!
I’m sure the head ref had a good laugh at this one.
That is amazing! Whoever came up with this strategy is a genius. Too bad the robots were disabled, but I guess it makes sense since it is sort of a hazard.
Wow…wish i had known that today in qualifying…
we were allied with two bots that were basicly dead in the water…
it wasnt their fault though…we could have set them on ours…
That one robot was WildStang. (You can see their ramp in the corner.) They probably did alright.
They scored 16 points alone. Final score was 46-something.
its a pretty interesting strategy…30 points automatically and depending on how good the opponent’s scoring is, it could win or lose a match
Consider the number of qualifying matches you’ve seen this year where fewer than 30 points were scored. This strategy guarantees the 30 and still leaves you with one robot free to roam.
Sheer genius, Raul! Well played.
Sean
I did not know that was allowed. If they were to build a bot that could latch onto the top of another, would they be able to move if it was secure?
Chris
In this case, though, neither of the robots could move a bit so they might as well have done it. I just don’t know why the opposing alliance didn’t go “bump” them out of the end zone. Probably isn’t gp though.
I doubt it. If teams started doing that, they would probably issue an update that says you can’t start on top of another robot.
This strategy is amazing because even if you lose, you get 30 tie-brake points.
However, the way I would this is if we took off our arm (which is pretty easy to do) because I would be too scared of another robot hitting us, causing us to fall down. You don’t have to ram to knock the other robot off; a light push will do it, and that is likely to happen if opposing teams enter your home zone for ringers.
