This was taken during the Finals on Archimedes. The match ended when 179 was right next to 217. 179 lost the power to their arm and it slowly came down on 217. It was amusing.
Great job by both teams to get to the finals.
hahaha… very funny picture I must say.
… two of the best robots of the season facing off each other in the finals. Wish if I had the chance to watch them (I was by Curie field with my team). What a great season by Thunderchickens and Swampthing.
I think I remember seeing that…that was quite amusing…
xD w00t to hilarious mistakes.
Good to see that the autoloader attendant is on top of things
We had this beat. At the Robot Ruckus scrimmage in february, 1649 drove by us while we were starting to lower a tetra. It was timed just right to where the tetra barely caught onto the other robot and capped it on the run. probably didn’t take much more than two seconds. It was difficult to recover from laughing at the sight.
this is funny!!
i always miss the good things…well then again i was busy running around the pits or doing something…
swamp and s.p.a.m eventually should be in the same division…we missed seeing you all…
Did 179’s gripper change at all? It looks different for some reason. Great picture though! I thought it was pretty funny when I saw this.
GO 1403!!!
It changed at Palmetto. Tytus told me they had added on two side prongs to prevent the tetra from falling off easily and to also allow them to pick it up from anywhere on the gripper.
Yeah, I remember that change from between UCF and Palmetto.
Unless it changed further, essentially the side prongs sprung out at the start of the match, with the pins holding them in getting pulled away by the arm’s movement. Very trick.
we werent trying to cap them it happened when the match ended and the arm backdrove down on them
I personally didn’t get any pictures, but 987 capped 555 three times. (Actually, 555 was goal tending and was wearing three tetras after all was said and done.)
