wow that’s amazing, why ruin it by smashing into another robot? save it for a art gallery and make a bad looking one to make other teams look normal. Good Luck!
When do we get to see what fits in that square center hole?
Very nice job Swampthing. Looks like a killer.
-Arefin.
Don’t wory it will be quite Indestructable
hmmm let me guess:
It looks like i see 3 wheels on the side being shown (without your waffle tread) and most likely a multimotor drive…possibly more than 4 (total)?
The middle wheels are probably lowered a fraction of an inch (seems to be a general trend now)
Oh and it looks really really really sweet.
Pretty sweet Tytus…
Water Jet or CNC?
And…what is the big slit and square hole for?
I would guess that it was run by treads if the middle wasn’t out of alignment with the other two. I can’t wait to see the full thing up and running.
I think its for their Arm.
I would assume waterjet…cause I believe that is how they did last years bot.
boy howdy, that sure is purdy…
what material is that shell made out of? and how did you make it? it looks like it might be sheet metal thats bent and welded, but i can’t be sure…
The hole on top is super duper secret (till week 5). The cover is 1/8 alum welded plate. Waterjet (thanks BTI). The front and back covers are hinged hoods. Under the front there is an isolated plugin electronics module. Around the perimeter and all through the base is a grid of 1/4" alum plate welded up, then laminated with 3/16 plate. It’s extremely rigid. Also hidden in there are a brand new spiffy set of Andymarks. Around the lower perimeter will be covered in a very cool bumper sensor system. This little monster is going to see and touch!
But the best part is yet to come!
Where can I get one?
That is quite an amazing looking robot. I’d love to see the final product, with the arm (or whatever it will be) and all.
I assume you mean Andymark transmissions? Not wheels or planetaries?
the picture speaks for itself
lol hopefully you won’t have to put any " speed holes " into it to reduce the weight
would stink to ruin such a pretty water jet job/shell
how much does that thing weigh? looks heavy…but then again i could be mistaken…
Sounds like a challenge to me
You’re not going to paint it that *hideous * fluorescent green, are you?
jk Ty - you know I love you guys (even Dan). Looks pretty sweet as always.
Awwwe, I feel warm inside.
She’s gonna have a gloss black finish with air brushing to outline the cutout features. Green for the grass blades, white for the teeth and red for the eyes. The frame inside might end up red. Then the number plates etc in the vertical on the “secret” thing might get a different colored green than the tetra.
Weight: I’ve actually picked it up by myself with “almost” everything in it. So it’s OK. I think when it’s done it’s going to nip the limit.
Andymark transmissions. Her technical speeds should be 14’/s high and 5’/s low.
We’ll be driving it this weekend, I’ll host a video at that point
…and we’ll be driving, well, hmmmm
anyway, can’t wait to drag race ya (and play “chicken”)!
My guess for the four corners is either powered outriggers or mast supports?
Waterjet cutting looks great, can’t wait to post our teaser.
