Sweet Woodie Flowers…

Why not? This way your robot can generate it’s own smokescreen to shield itself from the opposing alliance.

If you want to rage quit the match, just drive into a wall and wait :stuck_out_tongue:

Possibly… More motors means that for a given torque load on the drivetrain, each motor is at a more efficient point on its operating curve (possibly 65% efficiency instead of the 40-45% at peak power). When designing for maximum sprint speed, FRC drivetrains are effectively limited by the amount of electrical power we can draw. If you could add the additional motors with minimal additional mechanical losses and implement a control system to manage inrush currents, this could be a way to shave off a few more tenths of a second, if that’s important. I’m not sure if 10 motors is the most optimal design for this, though.

Brownouts for days.

I like the colors

and stall currents, but that would be a gearbox designed for sprinting, not for pushing.

Anybody have experience using Talon SRXs in Current Closed-Loop mode that can comment on the feasibility? Possibly with some additional ramping code to handle the inrush.

With all my years on 71 and being in the Midwest learned never to question 2451’s drivetrains. I do really love the design here hopefully get to see something like this in action.
