Teams may not climb on the PYRAMID.

Violation: YELLOW CARD

We cannot confirm, since we do not know the zone touched sequence for this climb. Wouldn’t have passed inspection anyway. There are no places to attach belaying caribiners for lowering.

Finally found Waldo. This is a great way to start the season.

Nice job!

I see you opted against scoring the colored discs after your ascent :stuck_out_tongue:

Rules were made to be broken! :stuck_out_tongue:

What did you guys use to build this pyramid? I’m having trouble finding the material to build it with that isn’t too costly.

As per the “Team Drawings” documents on FRC-manuals, it should be wood and black iron pipe. Expect to spend $300-400.

For the Actual pyramid, we are using black iron pipe and wood for the pyramid goal.

Hi,
We followed the low cost field drawings, found all the materials at my favorite place that loves to steal my money. Home Depot. Pipe clamps, plywood, Black pipe.

Were you able to find them in the right size? Cause I’ve been looking online and can’t find anything

What can’t you find?
The pipe clamps or the pipe it self?

For pipes, try a Lowe’s or Home Depot. They should have them in stock. Call them if you can’t find it on the internet.

Unfortuantly the Home Depot and Lowes in my area dont carry any pipe near the correct size. The only thing I could find was some fence post pipe possibly. I dont know if they stock based on regions and we dont have that much need, but most the pipe in black and steel is 1inch or smaller.

Any plumbing supply place, it’s a very common pipe, I use it at work for high pressure steam. Home Depot is good for certain things, also you have to beat other local teams to the popular stores.-(sorry Brooklyn teams, you can come over and play anytime, PM me if you want to have a play date)

Due to the discrepancies in size (OD 1.660 on the iron pipe vs OD 1.500 on the steel tubing), we are building the official pyramid. That is, we are going to weld together the field version.

If you are under 120 pounds and under 84 inches tall you will be a tough competitor this year haha.

Would you be able to post some more detailed images, particularly the corner pieces and how they are supported/attached to the vertical pipe? We are using galvinized steel pipe to build ours, however it (it being the assembly) seems to be rather flimsy while assembling and I’m not particularly fond of the way the drawing says to assemble it. Needless to say I dont feel safe having 300 pounds of robot hanging on it at the muncie scrimmage.

Thanks in advance
