Right now you're probably thinking "you've got to be kidding" right? Wrong. We don't kid around when it comes to designing drivetrains. And there is more. Can anyone figure out what that little rod in the left of the picture is for? Hehe. Check the next pic to see.

Special thanks to Andy Baker and Andy Brockway whose expertise and previous designs designs have influenced the HexaMax R2.

SEE IT IN ACTION AT THE LOS ANGELES REGIONAL!

That’d be a shift shaft.

(And I was right back a few weeks in that teaser thread. Maybe it helped that someone on 100 designed a similar drivetrain and called it the hexadrive? ;))

That is awesome. With the heatsink and the fan, I’m going to guess that you have absolutely no problems with the FP motor overheating now. But do you still run it on 12V or 6V?

We run it based off of the original respects and we have not made any changes after hearing that it is truly a 6V motor. Why take a big power hit? It is in the drivetrain for extra power, and we plan to get all we can from it. We haven’t pushed it hard in a competitive match but in hours of continuous testing and practicing it has not gotten even the slightest bit warm, even without the fan. We don’t have the space to “let 'er rip” but so far I am impressed.

can we see the other side?

In case you missed it at the LA regional, it will be in action once more at the San Diego Offseason event May 21st. There’s also another pic and discussion here
