the 1947 bot

If you rotate the Toughboxes 180 degrees you will move the output sprocket lower so you can mount the 45 degree plate to the kitbot rail. Is there a reason for making the middle mount between the two toughboxes ?

yes, they are hiding something behind that black wall!

If this is a test bed drivetrain, then congrats on getting it built and ready to run. If this is your 2008 robot, I have some very important comments to make.

  1. If you’re running one piece of chain from the gearbox to both wheels, I highly recommend that you get some more “wrap” around the gearbox sprocket. The right side drive looks to have the chain already connected, and I can imagine that there isn’t much engagement with the sprocket.

  2. The aluminum plate that is mounted atop the black box (between the new toughbox angle brackets) is no longer available from IFI. If you manufactured this yourself, nice job. If you are using a left over piece from the previous kitbot, it is not legal for the 2008 competition.

  3. The skyway wheels are mounted to the chassis using the plastic molded hub adapters from previous KOP’s. Again, these adapters a no longer manufactured, and are not legal for the 2008 competition.

Just trying to help you out early, before you get to your first inspection on Thursday. Best of luck,

Bengineer

thank you for pointing it out
