It looks like we were tipping over, but we were suspended half-tipped, and surprisingly, we were able to drive on the two wheels still touching the ground, and we tried shooting but it went a bit high. The robot that was trying to tip us started to go up on the ramp afterwards, but they fell over in the process. (Sorry, don't know the other two teams)
The one on the left looks like Miss Daisy (341).
It’s Miss Daisy’s second robot that they lent to a new team. Episcopal Academy? I don’t know their number.
It was a pre-rookie team, that used 153 during the off-season.
Thats incredible. We had a couple of robots that were like that at our finger lakes regional.
so what your saying is that a team began by trying to tip you?!?! Then when they failed they finished you off?!?!?! wow am i the only one shocked and appauled by this lack of GP?!
I wouldn’t rush to call it “un-GP”. I would like to know a little more about the situation first. Was the team repeatedly ramming 230 with the explicit objective of tipping them? Or were they trying to defend the ramp, inadvertantly tipping the opposing robot?
Tipping can happen as a part of normal, legal game play, and isn’t always done with malicious intent. Sometimes I’m appalled by the way people throw around the term “un-GP” too liberally.
If you look at the picture in the media section he goes into a little more description of the situation. Which might clear up some of the confusion from the above two posts
Yea it talks about a robot trying to tip them over. Good catch Dylan.
We actually never finished tipping, we were stuck half-up like that and able to drive back and forth for the rest of the match. But they were defending the ramp, not purposely trying to tip us. I don’t know what they were doing when they fell over, but it looked like they were going up the ramp and fell.
I’m not sure how what I was originally trying to say came out like that in the description, but it did look like I said they were trying to tip us.
thats perfectly fine and i will apologize also for my own mix-up and thanks alot for clearing all that up!
Thats allright man…I apologize also. That happens too all of us. Sometimes things that we type are taken a different way.
I still remember our team had the same thing happen, but just a little different. We drove up the ramp and our robot was a little top heavy. We got stuck at that angle on our bumper and were stuck like that for the last few seconds of the match with our other two team mates already up. Last 3seconds robot slowly tips back as we rush to turn everything off to keep it from moving. Bout a 6ft drop from top of robot to floor. Not fun to watch but repair was a minor dent. There goes that extra 25pts.
