Did you cut the shaft and re-thread it?
If so do you still get an appropriate preload when you toggle the cam? I would be worried about overloading an unthreaded length that long and causing plastic deformation.

hey, I got that idea last year for our battery box, makes for quick battery changes!
They make short ones and few spacers help. There isa very good grip as usual,we have not lost a battery in three years.
Thanks just curious because I hadn’t seen them that short before, the preload thing has to do with a failure investigation I conducted last year though. One detail missed caused a big mess.
