This guy’s cubicle is pretty sweet.
I can think of 10 reasons that it is better than mine.
- He can get in to his office whenever he wants.
- He has a great window. My nearest window is about 100 feet away.
- He can get lunch from his neighbor, the hot dog guy.
- If he needs a speedy delivery, he beckons the nearest bike messenger, taxi, or FedEx truck.
- He doesn’t have to adhere to anyone’s “clean desk policy”.
- If he forgets his address, he just has to look up to the nearest street sign.
- He gets plenty of free music, from live street musicians to hoopties with their stereos pumpin’.
- His PC game version of “The Streets of LA” is as real as it gets.
- If it rains, he gets to pack up and go home.
- His commute takes no time.
But… with all of these advantages, I still feel sorry for the guy.

hahaha! but i’m curious…
will he pull a reverse Michael Jackson and go black?
looks at picture
hmm…maybe! just kidding, Brandon.

I keep wanting to say that looks like Saddam
I wonder how fast that guy can pack his stuff up and move if it starts to rain? haha

Did any of you notice that he’s mooching power from the light post?
Eric
I wonder if he can get DSL there???
DJ… Where in the world did you find this pic??
I was wondering the same thing. I don’t see a cart unless it’s hidden behind the boxes. There’s too much stuff to fit in a taxi. Maybe he owns that Econoline van in the background.
I also wonder if he worries about getting mugged. But then again there’s not much damand for a 15" monitor these days.
A friend showed it to me…im sure he found it on a non-Chief Delphi appropriate website though…
Ten years?! I think I’m almost there today!
(and no, I didn’t messy it up for the picture. This is how messy my desk is currently)
The differences I see…a roof, some walls and to quote Brandon, “More desk, less box”
/me wishes I had a number 15 in Brandon’s pic… maybe for my B-Day…
And you call that messy?? Wow, That’s nothing.
I’ll have to post a pic of my desk one of these days. :ahh:
Actually… it’s pretty neat right about now.
It’s a little neater than what I got here. I have a pile of computer parts and several “parts” computers sitting on the floor. One of the computers has been sitting so long and accumulated so much stuff stacked on it that it’s been upgraded to “coffee table status”!
The thing that really surprises me in those pictures is the lack of any battery back-ups (UPS’s). Especially with those servers.
I’ve done this on a few occasions…the only problem is that the power in the light poles only comes on after dark…
If he has a WiFi access card, he can mooch internet from the nearest building, most likely. Give it a good 24 hours of packet sniffing, if they have a password.
Thats messy? Brandon, come on now you need more cables strewn about the room and more papers laying around, thats really quite neat. And as Jay H 237 said
Where’s the UPS? whole house maybe?

Where are the piles of Cd roms (or dvd roms) for writing cds, and how much do the headphones cost (pounds or dollars)
UPS: Never had one, probably should, but never got around to buying one.
CD-R: There’s a spindle just out of view, down in the bottom left, next to the grey & black flash light.
Headphones: They are an old pair of RCA’s that cost no more than $25 USD, on sale at buy.com.
After seeing your room brandon please please don’t tell me that one of those computers edits CD =)
Why are the computers open like that and why are they on a rug… I guess static electricity don’t bother your computers that much =) and whats with the bit monitors i thought you would have an LCD screen or something like a flap panel by now…
In comparison to brandons desk and mine:
1- mine is wider
2- " " shorter
3- " " roomier
4- " " cluttered with papers and empty glasses / bottles of pepsi etc
5- my wiring mess is hidden behind my desk
Ill post a pic of mine when i get a chance right now i gotta go eat something =) and leave it on my officially considered my lazy desk
